Adsorption is one mechanism, but every industry loads carbon differently. Here is how we spec base material, grade and mesh for the duties we ship most.

Municipal & Drinking Water
Coal-based 8×30 or 12×40 (iodine ≥900) for taste, odor and organics in GAC filters; coconut 12×40 for point-of-use cartridges. Acid-washed grades where dissolved-metals specs are tight. Powder dosing for seasonal algae taste events.
Gold Mining — CIL / CIP
Coconut 6×12 with hardness ≥97% and platelets ≤1% survives the agitation and stripping cycles that shred softer carbon. Consistent activity means predictable gold loading — we supply mines and EPC contractors by the container.
Food, Sugar & Oil Decolorization
Wood-based powder (MB 150–200 mg/g) strips caramel color from syrups, glucose and juices in minutes of contact time. Food-compliant grades with heavy-metal certificates for edible product lines.
VOC & Exhaust Air Treatment
Honeycomb blocks (CTC ≥60%) give deep VOC capture at pressure drops fans barely notice; columnar pellets fill deeper beds for solvent-heavy streams. Water-resistant binder grades for humid paint-shop exhaust. Pairs naturally with scrubber systems upstream.
Pharma & Fine Chemicals
Low-ash acid-washed powder for API decolorization and plasma-product polishing; documentation packs (COA, heavy metals, TSE/BSE statements) prepared for audit-ready procurement.
Solvent Recovery & Canisters
High-CTC columnar pellets (60–70%) cycle steam regeneration in toluene, ethyl-acetate and hydrocarbon recovery plants; low-dust canister grades keep automotive EVAP and industrial cartridge lines clean.
Tell us the contaminant and the flow — we’ll spec the carbon.
